What led me to wanting to be a part of CTG is experiencing the loss of my Father at the age of 9. I want to use this opportunity to show support and inspire the youth.
I got involved with Connecting the Gap because I lost my mother at age 11 and understand how much support young people need when they are grieving. What stood out to me about this organization is that it does not only focus on the kids. Connecting the Gap recognizes that many of them are being raised by relatives or guardians who also need guidance, resources, and encouragement. I joined the board to help make sure families are not left to figure it out alone and to be part of a network that meets them where they are with real support.
I serve on the Connecting the Gap board because grief should never determine a child’s future. Through thoughtful governance, advocacy, and strategic leadership, I am committed to ensuring grieving youth have access to the support, stability, and opportunities they deserve to heal, grow, and thrive.
"I am honored to support the mission and vision of Connecting the Gap because I’ve seen how losing a parent affects a child’s life. Growing up with a single mom and watching my cousins grieve the death of their mom at a young age, I deeply understand the need for support for children who are experiencing grief and navigating the loss of a parent.
